Western Tanager and Bullock's Oriole in my Fruit Orchard

Hi Everyone

My one and only Bing Cherry tree has lots of fruit on it. And of course, we have Orioles, Robins, Western Tanagers, Finches and others who love them. I sat up my tripod and put my 300mm on my Nikon D-80 and wanted to share some shots with you. These are of the Western Tanager and Bullock's Oriole.

This is a male Bullock's Oriole.

And here is the male Bullock's Oriole peeking from behind a group of Bing Cherry leaves--playing hide-n-seek.

I believe this is a first year Bullock's oriole flying into the Bing Cherry tree.

I believe this is a Scott's Oriole--they are yellow, not orange.

And here is that male Bullock's Oriole hopping around in the Bing Cherry tree having a ball eating all the fruit.

This is a Western Tanager. Interesting about this bird--they only get their 'red' heads when they are in breeding season. Otherwise, they don't have the 'red heads'--but they sure look pretty with the splash of red, don't you think?

I'm not sure if this is a male or female breeding Western Tanager.

I'm pretty sure this is the male Western Tanager. Why? Because he has more 'red' on his head than the other one, which I think is the female (she has less red on her head).

This Western Tanager is enjoying the cherries, that's for sure!

This Western Tanager looked right at me as I shot this photo. Birds are SOOOOO aware of everything around them.

This Western Tanger was like elastic to get to the cherries.

I hope you enjoyed my bird escapade in my back yard.
