Hi Everyone
Pluto, the transformer,is at 29 Sagittarius right now--and already, we're seeing assassinations (Bhutto) by fanatics/terrorists, which is ruled by this sign. Further, 29 degrees is always a highly emotional sign. And we're in this "between a rock and a hard place" emotionally speaking until January 25, 2008, when Pluto finally leaves Sagittarius and moves into the more stable, earthy sign of Capricorn.
What does all this mean? I've tried to go back in history when Pluto was in Capricorn to see what we can learn by looking back. There's an old and true saying: "What we fail to learn from history will be repeated." And that is sooooo true!
You don't have to believe in astrology to use it. Just check out the history when this mighty transformer was in the sign of Capricorn and then read further as to my forecasting of what it might mean for us now and the next sixteen years as Pluto transits in this sign.

2012, the Mayan legend says, “Time will cease as we know it...” will get support as Pluto, the god of Transformation, moves into Capricorn on January 26, 2008. This is a major step toward that transitional point. The world is about to change remarkably--and so will we, as a result. Pluto, the god of Transformation, will make sure it happens.
Pluto has a 248 year transit and we, as human beings, never have a Pluto Return as a result. Pluto rules over transformation, change and destruction/renewal phase of our lives. It is a slow but sure mover and changer in our every day life. It asks us again and again to change; but because we are fearful and don’t want change, it will nudge us repeatedly, off and on throughout our lives, to help us break the fixed habit or conditional patterns we grew up with, so that we can evolve and transform in ways that make us one with the Universe.
Transiting Pluto squares its natal position in each of our lives around age 62; and this is a time of wonderful, flowing change if we’re up to it. If we have been constantly renewing ourselves, changing our attitudes and working to heal our emotional wounds, this is a gift of freedom and very positive. If not, then many older people’s lives change at this point and they don’t do it willingly. Massive change and transformation will take place. It will be monumental in scope; not something little. Pluto gives plenty of warning, decades beforehand, so that when we hit age 62, it doesn’t have to be something to be afraid of if we have been maturing, becoming broader and deeper as a human being. If we have been growing and changing all along, the gifts of Pluto at this age are incalculable. They can be worldly gifts of fame, fortune, success, or more inner gifts of knowing one’s self or going through initiations and making that Phoenix-like transformation so that your oneness with Spirit is a living, daily joy.
If we want an example of what Pluto can do, let’s look back when it entered the sign of Sagittarius January 17, 1994 and remained there until January 24, 2007. This was a thirteen year transit through the sign of religion. Does “religion” issues ring a bell? You have all seen the rise of the religious fanatic across the globe and it isn’t just the terrorists using Islam to batter the world with their distorted beliefs. Religion has suddenly surged into every day life and has threatened to deluge the state, which is to be separated from religions, in the USA. It used to be that religion and state were completely separate. We now have a president who has more religious more than statesman abilities and his views have clouded and thwarted the ship of state vs. religious freedom until it’s a muddy mess.
The religious right has taken over the Republican party, too. We saw the rise of dictators (Pluto) as a president, the slaughter of millions in genocide across our globe, dictators rising and falling and saw the rise of religious zealots who are but a handful, into positions of power. And most recently, B. Bhutto, of Pakistan, was assassinated. And we’ve seen them abuse and misuse their power over and over again. This is the ugly side of Pluto when it is allowed to manifest and thrive.
Pluto is not at fault--we are. Pluto only exerts an energy and it is we who choose what to do with it and how to express it not only internally within ourselves, but externally upon the world as we see it.
HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE OF PLUTO IN CAPRICORN
Looking at history from 456 BC to the present, Pluto has (roughly speaking) spent sixteen (roughly because it can be 12 years sometimes) years in Capricorn every 248 years of one orbit about the sun. For you history buffs, here are the dates that Pluto was in Capricorn and you can do a little historical sniffing around to see what was going on in that time frame and see how it may reflect on us today. Remember the old saying: what we don’t learn from history, we are bound to repeat. And that is so true. As we look back in history, see if you note the parallels to our own society today to get a ‘feel’ for where Pluto is going to be working energetically in our lives.
I culled the internet for information on each of these periods. And, of course, the BC time frame is not going to have the wealth of information that our AD time frame does for obvious reasons. Still, there are people and events in BC that we see mirroring in our AD period. It is a fascinating journey and I invite you to read through these gleanings (sources are noted) and see how they might be repeating themselves in the near future, but on another level because we have grown and evolved since the BC era in some ways.

A twelve to sixteen year period in Pluto’s cycle embraces all levels and elements of our life. (The reason for the years of difference is the oblong elliptical orbit of Pluto. For example, the shortest amount of time is spent in Scorpio and Taurus because they are at the ‘ends’ of the oblong orbit). Pluto will be in Capricorn for sixteen years. There is a historical perspective. There is a philosophical one. A personal one, and so on. Pluto touches us on all levels and in all ways: spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. The globe, too, responds, only it would be more to weather, the elements, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis and epidemics.
And into every cycle of each planet, but especially Pluto, there are great thinkers and philosophers, men and women, who help shape what our reality and spirituality are to become. An example of this is Buddha spreading his philosophy of Buddhism around the Far East. Or, Jesus Christ, to the Christians. And on the other end is Hitler and his Aryan Nation concept that threw us into World War 2. Pluto can show us freedom through thought and brainwashing in human beings. We want to pay attention to who these people are and see if we resonate with them or not.

Earth Changes:
in 464 BC the Greek city of Sparta was leveled by an earthquake that killed at least twenty thousand people. When the trembling was over, only five houses remained standing. And, interestingly, slaves revolted at that time and ran into the countryside where they resisted recapture for three years.

ART:
Neoclassicism: (1750 - 1830)
The term Neoclassicism refers to the classical revival in European art, architecture, and interior design that lasted from the mid-eighteenth to the early nineteenth century. This period gave rebirth to the art of ancient Rome and Greece and the Renaissance as an opposition to the ostentatious Baroque and Rococo art that preceded the movement.

In England, Catholics and Jews are not allowed into Parliament and women are considered only children of larger growth. A man of sense only plays with them, he neither tells them about, nor trusts them, with serious matters. King George III (1760-1820) came to the throne. De Voltaire (Francois Marie Arouet) (1694-1778) would write 'when I see Christians cursing Jews, I see children beating their fathers.'
FAMINE: Ten million East Indians parish as a result of the Great Bengal famine.
Invention of the Steam Engine. Steam came to power the machines that were developing fast (particularly in textile industries of England and Scotland), creating factories where people worked to the rhythm of the machine. Piston steam engines had been used to pump water since the end of the 17th century. In the 1760s, James Watt created more powerful engines by condensing the steam in a vessel separate from the cylinder. These made steam engines an alternative to water wheels, and moved industry from the side of highland streams to lowland coalfields.

King George III (1760-1820) made peace with France without informing King Frederick II (1740-1786) of Prussia leaving them to fight France alone. The Treaty of Paris clearly established the principle that the French had no right to give away Indian property, by treaty or otherwise. A mandate from the crown of England made it clear that possession of Indian Lands is to be acquired by fair purchase and then by governments and not individuals.

LOOKING BACK, LET’S LOOK FORWARD....
If we look at history, however sparse it may be back in the BC era, there are still glimmerings of what may come with Pluto moving through Capricorn.
PEOPLE OF INFLUENCE:
We have some ‘heavy hitters’ born in Greece: Socrates, the famous philosopher whose ideas and perspectives are still a part of our reality to this day especially in the areas of science. Euripedes, the famous writer whose words are still taught in universities today. And then there is Archimedes, the Greek mathematician and engineer. Eratosthenes of Cyrene was a Greek astronomer and mathematician. He was the first to calculate the circumference of the Earth.
And if we look at people born in AD, here are just some of many. Nicholas Copernicus, a Polish astronomer and mathematician pronounced the sun the center of our solar system--not the earth. He literally rocked world view. The German Reformer, Martin Luther, rocked the Catholic world and literally created the Protestant world as he separated from the Catholic world view. The Machiavelli family of Italy had a lot of manipulation and control over their Renaissance world. After Nicholo Machiavelli died and his book,”The Prince” was published, it made greed and evil respectable so long as one did it for political and religious purposes. And isn’t that ongoing to this day?
There was a tremendous amount of influential thinkers from the 1760-1776 Pluto in Capricorn. Mary Wollstonecraft, Jean Jacques Rousseau, John Priestley, and Emmanuel Kant, to name but a few. All of these great thinkers continue to influence us.
The world needs an influx of new and unique thinkers and philosophers to try and help us make the quantum leap forward and hopefully, into our heart chakra. If we try to look into the future for this next round through Capricorn, very serious, deep thinkers may ponder life and death. Euthanasia. When should getting old be the end instead of keeping someone alive with a terrible quality of life? Medical and bio morality and values . Gene splicing. Cloning. How computers have affected our lives and will continue to in the future. The care and feeding of our spirit as the world goes ever faster. Global warming. A kinder, gentler way of working with Mother Earth and how humans can once more fit in instead of being the ‘virus’ that is killing her and everything else on it. Also, what do the rich of the Earth owe the poor of the earth? Religion is a war making machine. Perhaps philosophers to come will help us to transcend this terrible truth into a peaceful frame of reference and way of living.
INVENTIONS:
One would look for practical inventions because Capricorn is ultimately practical--not fanciful. And since Saturn is the planet that rules this sign, we would expect to see from the past, inventions that could be used daily. One of our most famous is Benjamin Franklin. David Bushnell invented the submarine. Alexander Cummings invents the flush toilet (now, that’s a real Pluto invention!), Jacques Perrier invents a steamship. George Louis Lesage patents the electric telegraph, James Watts brought us the steam engine. Richard Arkwright patents the spinning frame. All those who love sodas should than Joseph Priestly for inventing carbonated water (soda water). Priestly also isolated oxygen from a science standpoint. James Hargreaves invented the spinning jenny. John Harrison, an Englishman, invented the navigational clock or marine chronometer for measuring longitude.
In the coming era of Pluto in Capricorn, we should expect some mind boggling, useful inventions to appear. They will have to do with manufacturing, travel (space ships, faster planes, cars that work on hydrogen or some other green ‘gas’), space ships, a new source of clean energy, medical breakthroughs (genetics, cloning), computer revolutions used by millions (think of the Apple people gone wild here and we thought the Ipod and Iphone were something? Just wait! Apple is ultimately the most practical and visionary in computers today and will bloom under this Pluto in Capricorn era).
RELIGION:
As you can see through history, it has been about one upsmanship of one religion destroying or trying to destroy others. And then manipulating the materials so that gospels are rewritten or chosen to show a certain way that people are to believe--never mind it’s not the whole truth of what is written in other gospels. Patriarchal ways of living have thrived for the last three thousand years. Before that, it was a matriarchal existence. And fascinating to me that this destruction of the feminine bega in BC, was being repeated, in a new way, during the time of some of our great European philosophers such as Voltaire. It was during the 17th and 18th centuries that science was separate out from religion. This was a huge step considering the Church had a deathgrip on people from Roman times forward to that time. And so, I would see more reconstruction and transformation of religion and its place in our lives. Considering the Church has gone through horrible sex scandals, religion is no longer seen as having lily white hands they’d like us to believe. We are going to see rebellion in religions--all of them--on a large or small scale.
With the advent of Mohammed, Confucius, Jesus, and other males who are now considered the right gender to deliver us truths in what we are to believe, perhaps the turn will evolve to bring a few women up to the top who may help us perceive a different venue and way of believing. Or, at least applying what we’re supposed to be practicing daily. A woman religious writer or minister may show us a different way that does not mean war, or saying that another religion is wrong or not as good as the one you believe in. With males running the religious ship we can see historically it has brought only war. And now, in today’s scope, it has brought us terrorism with one of the older male religions bashing one another: Islamic terrorists hating Christians. We had the Crusades and now, we are having them again in a slightly different way and expression. And even if you don’t agree with that statement what we can agree on is that it springs from a religious source run by men.
Religious upheaval took place through Martin Luther who overthrew the Catholic yoke and started Protestantism. We may well have another upheaval in the Catholic church. How about priests can marry and have a family? Women become priests? The Catholic church comes clean and admits that Mary Magdalene was Jesus’ wife? The veneration of women rises within the Catholic church instead of being seen as the root of all evil? We already see fractures in the Church of England when it comes to homosexuals; those who can tolerate such a way of being vs. those who cannot and the splintering of the church as a result. More of this will occur in many other religions.
And even more provocative: What if a woman rises to power and starts a NEW female religion with a female goddess that rivals “god” of the organized religions we have today? What if more women are dissatisfied with male-run, male-dominated religions and decide to create (actually recreate) one for themselves?
DICTATORS, KINGS and POWER BROKERS
Looking back in history, we saw the Mongolian Empire rise and become the ruling lord of the far east, Europe and all lands in between. The great Kubli Khan became master of the then, known world. Rome, who had a long period of power, buckled and dissolved. The Mongols then took over. There was petty fighting between petty kings in Europe and Britain going on in the last orbit. One thing for certain, we saw the rise and fall of many countries and their kings or dictators during this time frame. Napoleon is a good example of a Plutocrat. We’ll see one of his kind--perhaps more than one--in this next orbit through Capricorn.
Will we see a great movement once again the Far East? Yes. With China dominating the world stage? I believe China will become a major powerhouse with Pluto in Capricorn. Will Venezuela and other South American countries get together to control oil? Yes. What dictators of countries will fall? Rise? Rebellions are part of the nature of Pluto and in Capricorn they take shape and manifest. For sure, rebellions will take their place. The world seems to have an endless supply of power mongers and dictators. I’m sure we will see some very heavy handed ones during this transit. Iron will may well be invoked and it will be up to citizens to rise against such suppression. You need look no further back in history than the last pass of Pluto in Capricorn with the advent and creation of our nation through rebellion (Stamp Act, Boston Tea Party, Declaration of Independence, ect.)
And what countries are going to fight for freedom and democracy? Our country did in the last revolution of Pluto in Capricorn--and we won our freedom. Which ones will surge to the forefront to once again be the rebels with a cause? The cause of freedom.
INSTITUTIONS:
Any institution in our country, or indeed, around the world, is going to undergo scruitiny and transformation. Authority and those in control had best be erring on the side of positive and not selfishness or greed. For example, the USA health care system will be changed remarkably during this transit. Any organization, govenrment or otherwise, will be put under the microscope and if they are found wanting, will be changed. Old institutional or patriarchial thinking is out the door, finally. Women are going to rise up and begin to look at society, the needs of the elderly and needs of the very young, the poor and uneducated in a new and more positive, uplifting way.
A good example of this today is Heifer.org foundation. They are a organization who teaches the fundamental practicalities (here’s common sense in action). If you donate as little as ten dollars, it can buy a adozen chicks. Those chicks are then given to someone in a village. That person is taught how to take care of those chicks, feed them, raise them, breed them and then, use the eggs and meat for food as well as selling to others to make some moeny. Heifer.org is a wonderful website where you can see common sense in action--a show and tell--to help those less fortunate get back on their feet with humanity and dignity. This is truly a Pluto in Capricorn organization way ahead of its time and I predict that any organization like Heifer who emulates their success, will soar and grow during this coming transit.
FOOD:
I believe we are going to see a massive resurgence of everyone growing their own gardens or having farmer co-ops. People are tired of being poisoned by the food they eat. Just as there were “victory gardens” where the USA urged all inhabitants to have their own gardens because of food shortages due to world war 2, we will again have gardens. Green gardens. Green is good. And with the right leaders who are progressive we are going to see a return to organic. Even if you live in an apartment you can grow a tomato in a pot, your herbs in small pots on your window sill. People like Al Gore are going to lead the way. Isn’t it amazing that he won the popular vote in the USA running for president? He stood aside and didn’t fight George Bush. Instead, he went on to create an incredible vision that each of us can take to heart with Saturn and Capricorn there to guide us in the practicality of such ideas: a garden in your back yard. Growing your own herbs. Supporting your farmers in your area and eating produce grown by them.
I also believe that our diet is going to change more toward seasonal varieties of food. We won’t be buying as much ‘out of season food’ and that may well be good for us because our 100,000 years on this earth, our guts got used to foods being available only at certain times of the year.
And, new paradigms will be imagined and put into common sense practicality and use during this transit as well. Food programs will be reimagined for those who are starving. Why not bring them oxen and plows? Show them how to manage water and create fields of food for themselves? Such ideas are going to be put into action shortly. So many of those who starve do not need too. They only need the education,t he tools, the people and a little money to make it all come together. One man in India has already shown this to be true: he would loan a person three hundred dollars to help them get their business off the ground--and it did. He has hundreds of cases where his simple three hundred dollar loan has changed a family’s life, put food on their table and made them a working, dignified human being supporting the economy and society. That is Saturn in Capricorn in action. We will see more of this.
HEALTH:
Health insurance companies and medical moguls will be running for cover shortly--a just karma for all of them. You are going to see huge restructuring of health in the USA and indeed, across this globe. Alternative medicines are going to rise and be considered a necessary and viable part of traditional medicine. Hospitals and medicare and all of the health organizations and institutions are going to undergo a cathartic change--and a badly needed one.
How we look at our elderly, how we look at nursing homes that truly only house the old to let them die from benign neglect, how we see old age and treat those who are the end of their life path, are all going to be looked at and changed. Whether it is fixed or not is going to rest in part on the Pluto in Leo generation, the Baby boomers, to get this broken institutiona of health in our country fixed and turned around.
HISTORICAL SUMMATION AND A FORECAST FOR THE FUTURE:
It is obvious that Saturn, the practical planet and ruler of Capricorn is going to bring common sense (horse sense) which is in dreadfully low supply, back into being. I used to think common sense was something everyone had; but I was wrong. We are going to go back to things that are at once useful, utilitarian, practical and will last a lot longer, than before, thank goodness. Common sense will rule the day. If it looks pretty but is useless, it’s not going to be bought. A beautiful example of this is Iphone. It is a gorgeous product, no doubt--however, the practicality of it--the EASY use of it, is sounding a tidal wave of what is to come to the world as Pluto enters Capricorn.
The built-in obsolescence of vehicles and so many other manufactured goods are going to be out. It used to be that toasters, can openers and other utilitarian, everyday items, used to last for twenty or more years. Now, we’re lucky if they last three months--such is the greed of the manufacture to have us buy another one because they know we can’t do with out it.
Greed in the corporate business world will have choices to make. They can stick to the “greed is good” standard or they can move beyond this and look what corporations can do to help lift the rest of the world. It could be that rich corporate owners (look at Bill Gates) part with their billions to do something positive for the planet (never mind that he screwed us with the PC software that will be the dinosaur as Apple and their software take over the world via the Ipod and Iphone...).
When one thinks of Capricorn, one thinks of the curmudgeonly corporate being. But the high side of Capricorn is the enlightened owner who understands and manages his or her people with skilled hands and vision. We should see a lot more of these leader emerge now. Also, many manufacturer who is a diehard and wants to stick to ‘business as usual’ is going to find their business and world upended. Pluto comes along to show these people that their attitudes or selfish, greedy practices aren’t acceptable any longer.
You are going to see the building of highways, bridges and many other structures with a Capricorn energy around. The highways of the USA are in dire need of refurbishing. So are the majority of bridges. Look for common sensed changes and improvements/upgrades in the super structure of society and their needs.
Practicality, when focused, is a breath of fresh air. Look at the Toyota Prius hybrid or the Honda hybrid. You are going to see car makers around the world shift gears (pardon the pun) and move into energy efficient vehicles that uses common sensed things such as hydrogen, palm oil, or other yet undiscovered ‘green’ fuel for our cars.
And changes in the FAA airport and airlines is going to begin. Our antiquated flight systems will be restructured. One hopes the government sits on the airline companies and get them to stop having so many canceled flights or late flights. Sitting six hours on a runway is so ridiculous I can’t even put it into words. Fixes for these situation aren’t going to be long in coming.
Look for inventions that help make the human footprint on Mom Earth lighter and even positive. Turning salt water into drinking water is one of them. Using wind and solar power are going to be amped up so that many of us will be utilizing this renewable energy sooner rather than later.
Pluto is a planet of transformation and deep change. Anyone who thinks they are going to stick to their rut and not change is in for a rude surprise. Innovation and cutting edge practical ideas are going to lead the way. And people are more than ready for them. And to the point of voting in a WOMAN for PRESIDENT. Hillary Rodham Clinton is a Scorpio and with Pluto in Capricorn sextiling her sun sign, this is not going to hurt her run for the White House. The rise of women in power is going to continue and she’s going to be at the forefront of it. You are going to see the subjugated rise. And the female gender has been all of that. Women are empowered and will now be in seats of power, large and small, around the world.

Pluto is the planet that adds depth, strength or power, intensity or
obsession, will and insight to any planet which it contacts. Pluto is the
planet of transformation. Transformation means change, which is a death of
something so that a rebirth can take place. It is never easy, but we can
learn to direct and guide our inner energies to the highest good for our
own growth and for all those around us.
We can use our Plutonian energies to find lost objects, hidden memories,
and deeply buried secrets. We can also learn to work with anything
underground, such as oil, ducts,
subways, and sewers. Nothing is sacred or too disturbing for Plutonian
energies to tackle.
If we consider our presence here on Earth as an opportunity for soul
growth, then Pluto's energies are best used by swimming with the current.
Wherever Pluto makes an aspect to your chart, that area is intensified. If
we allow it, and go with the flow, deep transformation can take place
there. We can learn to transform demanding attitudes in ourselves. That
is the first law of astrology: to transform self, not others.
Hard aspects with which I will deal here are the conjunction, when the
planets are within 8 degrees of each other; the square, when the planets
are at a 90 degree angle to each other; the inconjunct, also called a
quincunx, when the planets are 150 degrees apart; and the opposition, when
the planets are 180 apart.
The planets represent the energies that are operating in our lives. The
personal planets which I will juxtapose to Pluto here are the Sun, the
Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars.
CONJUNCTIONS
When Pluto conjuncts our Sun your will is intensified and you have strong
leadership qualities. Our work will be to learn not to impose our will on
that of others. To be open about our motives and our goals, despite the
secrecy under which Pluto likes to operate. Other people are not fooled,
only our leadership would suffer
If Pluto conjuncts our Moon it adds power to our emotions. At times,
especially when we are young, this can lead to intense feelings, of going
overboard with emotional reactions, and therefore being out of control.
If there is anything Pluto hates, it is feeling out of control. Pluto asks
us to deal with our control issues in this area of emotions. Emotions are
often held too much in check, and we must learn that we can express
ourselves calmly and warmly. This position also often translates into
being very hard workers in order to overcome being overcome by emotions.
The Moon also rules motherhood, nurturing, and dependencies which may never
have been satisfactorily resolved during childhood. Since we didn't know
what to do with these feelings then, we have an opportunity as adults to
allow them up to awareness, in order to deal with them now.
When Pluto conjuncts our Mercury the focus is on communication. We may
come on too strong, and expect others to abide by our
opinions. With this placement we can contact the deep parts of our Self,
solve mysteries, and allow into our consciousness what others may commonly
sweep or keep under the rug. It is also possible to have strong
disagreements and even breakups with our siblings. Thinking in circles or
obsessing about a subject or a person is not uncommon. This ability to
think deeply about things can be used positively by delving into the
esoteric mysteries of life.
When Pluto conjuncts your Venus the intensity is focused on our creativity
and our relationships. In the areas of values we need to transform our
feelings of self-worth, of possessions and possessiveness into a more
relaxed and self-accepting attitude. The power of Pluto is often exercised
in love relationships, so that we have the opportunity and the power to
resolve them into sharing and tolerance.
When Pluto conjuncts our Mars our power seems doubled. We may be faced
with issues of self-assertiveness vs.. aggression and deeply buried anger.
The sheer force of our will can then cause us to become ruthless because we
can so easily overlook everyone in our drive to achieving our ambitions and
goals in our life.
But our anger and aggressive feelings can be directed into responsible
leadership qualities, our fears can be turned into courage and risk taking
when needed.
SQUARES
Pluto squaring the Sun signals internal conflict to bring about change in
the way we express areas that serve our sense of who we are. The Sun rules
the will, the spirit and our individuality. Here the transformation is to
allow our true self to come to the surface in order to release any negative
attitudes, and to transform inner stress associated with the square to the
Sun.
When Pluto squares the Moon we are faced with emotional turmoil beneath the
surface, usually held in check by Plutonian will and power. When they
erupt, it is like a volcanic force erupting. Here we need to learn to
trust ourselves to govern our emotions. We also need to learn to trust
others, especially in relationships.
We also have an uncanny ability to tune in to mass consciousness with this
placement, as the Moon also rules the public when it is ruled by emotions,
not reason.
With Pluto squaring Mercury, it challenges our mind to learn to keep an
open mind where the opinions of others are concerned - we might even
enlarge our own "knowledge" base. The difficulty to be overcome here is to
learn to trust our own knowledge, and that of others as well.
Pluto squaring Venus indicates that we are to learn to transform our
values, be they material, mental, emotional or spiritual. Holding on to
our old ways is out and the path to transforming our sense of self-worth,
ideas (ours and theirs), possessions and friends, is through relationships.
It is often through a crisis of resentments and jealousies that will come
up from our inner turmoil that we get the opportunity for it to be resolved.
Pluto squaring Mars asks us to deal with problems around
self-assertiveness, anger, and to learn to control our energies. Others'
energies are usually not a match for our unceasing, goal-oriented energies,
and we need to be less demanding of others in our attitudes toward them.
To keep all these activities from depleting us, we need to be aware that we
need periodic rests.
INCONJUNCTS
(QUINCUNX)
Pluto inconjunct (qux = symbol in next paragraphs) the Sun. The sun is the
source of our vitality. Pluto here causes a disruptive need for ego
gratification and/or recognition at all costs. When we bring Plutonian
energies to the surface, as in becoming aware of them, we thereby defuse
their power and intensity. We can then allow them to play their supportive
role in our life.
Pluto qux the Moon describes our habit patterns. Pluto's best use in this
aspect is to learn discernment where our feelings are concerned. While it
is necessary to bring our very intense feelings up to our awareness, we
then need to find a satisfactory and safe outlet for them. A
transformation of our habitual responses to our feelings may be the answer.
With Pluto qux Mercury our thinking abilities are deep, but if used to
confuse people with words, and to keep them in awe of our ability to use
uncommon words, we are missing our potential. This is a good placement
for writing mysteries and for doing research.
When Pluto is qux Venus it often skews our ability to appraise values
correctly. We may have a mistaken view of people, such as hidden enemies
who pose as friends, or of our own self-worth. We need to learn to let go
of possessiveness and jealousy over people and material things.
Pluto qux Mars asks us to learn to adjust our wills so as to allow others
their way too, and to use our courage in bringing about inner change in
ourselves.
OPPOSITIONS
When Pluto opposes our Sun it can goad us into opening up to new visions of
ourselves. What we need to transform is our ego, our will, and our
stubbornness. Love heals all and Pluto gives us the strength to make these
changes. With loving hearts and Plutonian power together we can love
ourselves back into our original unity.
With Pluto in opposition to our Moon deep feelings of possessiveness or
jealousy will surface, and we are susceptible to great emotional mood
swings. Our emotions are deep and difficult to control with this position.
Here we can learn to allow ourselves the freedom to feel what we feel, and
to allow others the same freedom.
With Pluto opposing Mercury we can be very intolerant to others' ideas and
beliefs. It can bring about a crisis of faith for us. We may project our
anger by speaking about things better left unsaid. Or we may intimidate
people into avoiding any discussions with us.
We need to learn to rein in the deep and passionate power behind our words,
and to tolerate dissension.
When Pluto is in opposition to our Venus we need to learn to temper our
possessiveness and jealousy, and to check our need to control others, as we
also need to learn to not allow anyone to control us. Here we are faced
with a transformation of values, physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual.
The Pluto Mars opposition gives us the opportunity to learn to interact
with others in a harmonious way. With this placement we are very ambitious
and intense and goal oriented. This doubled energy of Mars and Pluto can
easily turn into stubbornness if we don't consciously make the effort to
listen to or to try out ideas of others.
In all the above ways, Pluto assists us in our self-healing process by
reaching issues that are deeply buried. Only by bringing them up to our
awareness and embracing our shadow, hard as that may be, can we be healed.
Face it, Embrace it, and Erase it.
Love and Light,
Grace
